HOW IT CONNECTS
Files travel straight between the two devices — nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
Transfer photos, videos and documents phone to phone, phone to PC, or iPhone to Android — straight between two browsers over an encrypted connection.
No upload, no cloud
Your files never touch a server — there isn’t one.
End-to-end encrypted
Only the two connected devices can read the stream.
No file size limit
Multi-gigabyte files stream straight to disk on desktop.
01 — HOW IT WORKS
Phone to phone, phone to PC or PC to phone — open Direct on both devices and scan two QR codes. No cable, no Bluetooth pairing, no account.
STEP 1
Open Direct on the sending device, tap Send and choose anything — photos, videos, documents, installers. Several at once is fine.
STEP 2
The receiver scans your code, you scan their reply. That two-way scan is the entire handshake — no pairing, no PIN, no account.
STEP 3
The files stream straight between the devices at the speed of your network — on the same Wi-Fi, that usually beats any cloud upload.
02 — PRIVACY
Cloud drives and link-sharing tools copy your file to their machines first. Direct doesn’t have machines. The data goes from one browser to the other over WebRTC with end-to-end DTLS encryption — when the tab closes, no trace of the transfer exists anywhere.
Every WebRTC connection is encrypted by the protocol itself. Only the two connected devices can read the stream — there is nobody else to read it.
iPhone to Android, phone to laptop, Windows to Mac. If it has a modern browser, it works — nothing to install on either side.
There is no share-link that can be forwarded, indexed, or guessed. The QR codes work once, between the two devices in the room, and expire in five minutes.
Some corporate and mobile networks block peer-to-peer connections entirely. Direct tells you plainly when that happens — the fix is putting both devices on the same Wi-Fi.
03 — FAQ
If yours isn’t here, the short version is: two browsers, one encrypted wire, zero middlemen.
Open direct.dplooy.com on both phones. On the sending phone, tap Send, choose the files, and point the other phone’s camera at the QR code — it opens Direct. That phone shows a reply code; scan it with the sending phone and the files stream straight across. Works iPhone to iPhone, Android to Android, and iPhone to Android.
Open direct.dplooy.com on both devices. On the phone, tap Send, choose the files and show the QR code to the computer’s webcam — or copy the link to the computer any way you like. The computer then shows a reply code; scan it with the phone and the files stream straight across. No cable, no app, no account.
Yes. Direct runs in the browser, so it works between iPhone and Android, and across Windows, Mac and Linux too — any combination, with no app installed on either side.
No. Direct opens an encrypted WebRTC connection straight between your two devices and streams the file across it. There is no server, no upload, and nothing is stored anywhere in between.
Direct itself has no size limit. On Chrome and Edge, files stream straight to disk, so multi-gigabyte transfers work fine. On Safari, Firefox, and iPhone the file is assembled in memory, so very large files (roughly over 500 MB to 800 MB) may be unreliable — Direct warns you before you accept.
Yes. WebRTC connections are always encrypted end to end with DTLS. Only the two connected devices can read the data.
Yes — no account, no sign-up, no app. Both devices open direct.dplooy.com in a browser, one taps Send and the other taps Receive, and you connect the two by scanning a QR code twice.
It does the same job in the browser: send photos, videos and documents to another device without the cloud. Unlike AirDrop it works across platforms — iPhone to Android, Android to Windows, Mac to PC — and nothing needs to be installed.
Direct has no relay server, so on some restrictive networks — corporate Wi-Fi or certain mobile carriers — a direct connection cannot be established. Putting both devices on the same Wi-Fi network almost always fixes it.
